Mongolia

Torn between the desire to settle down on the one hand and the perpetuation of family values on the other, the Kazakhs of Mongolia continue their annual winter migration. This ancestral custom, dictated by the food needs of their herds, leads them across vast landscapes of extreme beauty.

Madagascar

At a bend in a winding road in central Madagascar lies the small village of Soatanana, nicknamed the white village. Dressed in white all year round, the followers of the Lord's revival live there in community, following the rhythm of their beliefs. They gather at the church every Sunday, where the melodious songs of their long mass rise up. A place outside of time.

Mauritania, Iran

From the Sahel to Central Asia, deserts harbour as many riches as mysteries. They are a world apart, where time passes differently. Life, subject to harsh trials, nevertheless flourishes there, from one oasis to another.

Living alongside nomads means developing a special relationship with what makes a community. It means sharing intimate moments by the fireside and telling timeless stories, letting the grandeur of the landscapes inspire us.
